PERU TOUR: LIMA / CUSCO / INCA TRAIL
8 days / 7 nigths


This trip combines a travel to the ancient Inca trail from the 82 km where we will seeWayllabamba, Warmiwañusca, Wiñaywayna and Machu Picchu with a beautiful tour to Lima to complete our journey in Peru.

ITINERARY:

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN LIMA
Reception and transfer to the selected hotel in Lima. Overnight in LIMA.

DAY 2: CUSCO / CITY TOUR
Santo Domingo church - Cusco Tour Peru Transfer to the airport to take the flight to Cusco.(airfare NOT included). Assistance on your arrival and transfer to the selected hotel with a welcome Mate, having some rest to acclimatize yourself to the altitude.
In the afternoon we will start visiting Cusco on a guided sightseeing tour knowing the Main Square, the Cathedral and the Temple of the Sun or Koricancha, to make then a pleasant long walk by the San Blas district, the cradle of the most famous artists and artisans of Cuzco. We will visit its beautiful church that has an impressive pulpit made of wood in the 17th century that shows the delicate work of the craftsmen, and also we will see their workshops located near the Main Square.
While returning, we will pass through the Hatunrumiyocstreet to appreciate the Stone of the Twelve Angles. Then, we will drive out of the City to visit the Inca sites of Kenko, Tambomachay (the Inca baths), PucaPucara and the impressive Fortress of Sacsayhuamanstrategically constructed on a hill from where the famous enormous worked stones walls can be appreciated, some of which of 9 ms/30 feet tall. When the tour ends we will return to the hotel.Overnight in Cusco.

DAY 3: CUZCO / SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS
Ollantaytambo - Cusco Tour Peru In the morning we will have a full day excursion to the “Sacred Valley of the Incas”, where we willappreciate the typical Indian Market of Pisac, which is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays (this day a mass in Quechua, the native language, is celebrated). After having lunch in a local countryside restaurant, we will visit the Inca Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo, which was built to guard the entrance to this part of the Valleyand to protect it from possible invasions of the forest settlers; it was also constructed by a series of superposed terraces.
Finally we will visit the famous town of Chincheros where the remains of Tupac Yupanqui´s estate are found. We will admire the perfectly preserved Inca wall in the Main Square to visit then the beautiful colonial temple (with interesting frescoes on the main door and built on the foundations of an Inca building) and will see also its typical artisan market. After finishing our tour, we will return to the city. Overnight in Cusco.

DAY 4: CUSCO – KM 82 – WAYLLABAMBA (06 walking hours)
Our guide will pick you up from your hotel to take the bus to the (Km 82) for beginning the Inka Trail. After we pass the sacred Valley and towns such as Urubamba and Ollantaytambo, we’ll walk until we arrive to Llactapata, which is one of the biggest Inca remains. After one hour we will get to Miskay, where we’ll get our lunch. In the afternoon we will continue our walk towards the first campsite Wayllabamba. Time for dinner.

DAY 5: WAYLLABAMBA – PACAYMAYU (07 walking hours approx.)
Inca trail - Cusco Tour PeruAfter a delicious breakfast we’ll start the hardest part of our journey towards the highest point of the Inca trail where you will have an unbelievable panoramic view of the whole area and will observe different types of microclimates, the Warmiwañusca Pass: “The dead Woman” (at 4200 masl) Here, you will have a tremendous feeling of achievement mixed with relief on reaching the top. We’ll get our lunch with the beautiful background of the mountains and later we will continue the way down to Pacaymayo, our second campsite.

DAY 6: PACAYMAYO – WIÑAYWAYNA (8 walking hours approx.)
Wiñaywayna - Cusco Tour PeruAfter breakfast we’ll descend to the second highest point, Runkurakay Pass (3850 masl). Then we will go to the next Inca remain, Sayacmarca and In the afternoon we will keep walking until arriving to Puyupatamarca (“Town in the clouds”). After a short walk we’ll be arriving to our last campsite Wiñaywayna (“Always young”) where we will have a guided visit to this spectacularly well ubicated complex .We will have dinner at the campsite.

DAY 7: WIÑAYWAYNA – MACHUPICCHU (02 walking hours approx.)
Very early in the morning after breakfast we’ll start walking through the forest towards the Sun gate (Intipunku) known as the entrance to Machu Picchu. Here we’ll have a guided tour of this impressive Inca city, visiting the main rests and monuments such as The Main Square, The Circular Tower, The Real Quarters, The three Windows Temple and the cemeteries. You will have free time for knowing the ruins at your own and then all the group will join together again to go to AguasCalientes by bus (lunch not included).
In the afternoon we’ll take the train back to Cusco. Overnight in CUSCO.

DAY 8: CUZCO / LIMA
Inti Raymi - Cusco Tour Peru After breakfast, transfer to Cusco’s airport for going back to Lima (airfare NOT included). Upon arrival we will start the City Tour visiting the most important places such as: The Main Squaredeclared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the Cathedral, the Archbishopric, the Palace of Government, the City Hall of Lima, the railway station and the monumental Convent of San Francisco, where we will see its cloisters, catacombs and the religious museum. We will continue the visit with Lima residential zones, arriving then to the district of Miraflores, where we will have a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean and its Beaches. At an appropriate hour, transfer to the International Airport Jorge Chavez.
