PERU TOUR: LIMA - CARAL - CUSCO ARCHEOLOGICAL TOUR
7 days / 6 nigths

This tour will give you the opportunity to make a city tour in Lima to know the most important places as The Archaeological and Anthropological Museum, then make a full day tour to Caral to know its incredible history, and finally the millenarian Cusco to visit Machu Picchu, The Sacred valley of the Incas and the city itself.

ITINERARY:

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN LIMA
Reception and transfer to the selected hotel in LIMA. Overnight.

DAY 2: LIMA CITY TOUR / ARCHEOLOGIC & ANTROPOLOGIC MUSEUM
After breakfast we will start the City Tour visiting the most important places such as: The Main Squaredeclared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the Cathedral, the Archbishopric, the Palace of Government, the City Hall of Lima, the railway station and the monumental Convent of San Francisco, where we will see its cloisters, catacombs and the religious museum. We will continue the visit with Lima residential zones, arriving then to the district of Miraflores, where we will have a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean and its Beaches.

Then we will go to the Archeological and Anthropological Museum, where you can learn about and appreciate the pre-colombian art expression from about 8,000 years ago. At the Museum we will find the Paracasmantles, Nazca, Moche and Chimú and the Estela of Raymondifrom the Chavín Culture. At the end of the service we will return to the Hotel. Overnight in LIMA

DAY 3: FULL DAY CARAL
Very early in the morning at 7.00am we will leave Lima, taking the highway Pan-American north road until arriving the Km. 182 (2 ½ hours), in Supe Valley. We will arrive approximately at 10.30 to Huacho city. We will walk on a trail road where we will see irrigation canals in the desert areas, seeing also beans, sugar cane, corn and yuca cultivation fields.

Visit to “The Oldest City of America: Caral".
We will be able to appreciate the macroscopic images of the place and then we will visit the different constructions: 6 monumental pyramids, two of which show the architectural distribution of the first Peruvian civilization. These constructions have an amphitheater, offering vents with circular form, central squares, residential areas and religious centers. This city has an age of 5000 years and is chronologically parallel with the Egyptian pyramids.

We will return at 13.00 to Huacho city to have lunch and make the city tour at 15.00, visiting the balcony of Huaura, the place where there is a little site museum in honor of Jose de San Martin, who proclaimed the Peruvian independence. Ending the tour at 16.30, we will return to the hotel. Overnight in Lima.

DAY 4: CUSCO / CITY TOUR
After breakfast we will be transferred from the Hotel to the airport to take the domestic flight to Cusco (airfare NOT included). Assistance on your arrival and transfer to the selected hotel with a welcome Mate, having some rest to acclimatize yourself to the altitude. In the afternoon we will start visiting Cusco on a guided sightseeing tour knowing the Main Square, the Cathedral and the Temple of the Sun or Koricancha, to make then a pleasant long walk by the San Blas district, the cradle of the most famous artists and artisans of Cuzco. We will visit its beautiful church that has an impressive pulpit made of wood in the 17th century that shows the delicate work of the craftsmen, and also we will see their workshops located near the Main Square. While returning, we will pass through the Hatunrumiyocstreet to appreciate the Stone of the Twelve Angles. Then, we will drive out of the City to visit the Inca sites of Kenko, Tambomachay (the Inca baths), PucaPucara and the impressive Fortress of Sacsayhuaman strategically constructed on a hill from where the famous enormous worked stones walls can be appreciated, some of which of 9 ms/30 feet tall. When the tour ends we will return to the hotel. Overnight in Cusco.

DAY 5: CUZCO / VALLE SAGRADO DE LOS INCAS
In the morning we will have a full day excursion to the “Sacred Valley of the Incas”, where we will appreciate the typical Indian Market of Pisac, which is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays (this day a mass in Quechua, the native language, is celebrated). After having lunch in a local countryside restaurant, we will visit the Inca Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo, which was built to guard the entrance to this part of the Valleyand to protect it from possible invasions of the forest settlers; it was also constructed by a series of superposed terraces.

Finally we will visit the famous town of Chincheros where the remains of Tupac Yupanqui´s estate are found. We will admire the perfectly preserved Inca wall in the Main Square to visit then the beautiful colonial temple (with interesting frescoes on the main door and built on the foundations of an Inca building) and will see also its typical artisan market. After finishing our tour, we will return to the city. Overnight in Cusco.

DAY 6: TOUR TO MACHU PICCHU
In the morning after breakfast, we will be transferred to the train Station for a train journey to the famous Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu observing in our way the diversity of flora and fauna with the different ecological floors. We will arrive to Agua Calientes, located in the province of Urubamba, atan altitude of 2,400 masl. to take then a 25-minute bus drive of winding road, to “The Lost City of the Incas”. Once there, we will have a guided tour to The Historical Sanctuary of Machu Picchu and visit the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Clock, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and various burial grounds. After the tour, we will have time to stroll around the Archaeological Site at leisure. After lunch we will return to Cusco. Overnight.

DAY 7: CUZCO / LIMA
After breakfast, transfer to Cusco’s airport for going back to Lima.
