CULINARY TOUR GASTRONOMY: LIMA - CUSCO
"Our aim is to stimulate the Peruvian gastronomy"
DAY 1: ARRIVE TO PERU
Arriving to Lima and transfer from the Airport to the select hotel.
Overnight in Lima.
DAY 2:LIMA- FULL DAY – CULINARY TOUR
We will begin the Culinary Tour
9:00 a.m. Transfer from the Hotel to the main popular Market “Surquillo” , where we will recognize the variety of fish, vegetables, fruits and typical Peruvian products, accompanied by our Chef who will give us an explanation of ours products during the whole tour.
11:30a.m we will receive a Peruvian Cuisine speech by the historian and investigator Isabel Alvares, at the Restaurant Señorio de Sulco.
Brief exhibition of introduction to the Peruvian cuisine where there will give a general panorama of the origins of the Peruvian cuisine, influences, inputs base of our kitchen, classic plates, trends, etc…
12:00p.m we will receive a Peruvian Cuisine demonstration by the Chef. Flavio Solorzano ( executive cheff of the restaurant Senorio de Sulco), who will prepare the typical dishes.
At the end, the participants can enjoy the meals he has prepared
1:00p.m Lunch at the Señorio de Sulco Restaurant. Where you will taste of the Peruvian's exquisite buffet and will find great variety of our classic plates
3:00p.m we will go to a Book store where we can buy books of the Peruvian Cuisine and Peruvian History.
5:00pm Go back to the hotel. Overnight in Lima.
DAY 3: LIMA- CITY TOUR AND VISIT HUARIQUES
8:00a.m. Our driver bring to the very popular places, where we will take a delicious breakfast at the Chicharroneria “KIO” where we will taste one of the best pork sandwiches in Lima and juices.
10:00a.m City Tour to Old Lima town, we will visit the most important places such as: The Greater Seat, the Cathedral and the Archbishopric, the Palace of Government, the Municipality of Lima, we will visit the monumental set of San Francisco, where we will be able to visit its cloister, catacombs and their religious museum.
And stopped at the “Cordano Tavern” where all the presidents of Peru have eaten breakfast and had a drink.
Also we will go thru the modern city Miraflores and take look of Larco Mar, taste some plates at “Huariques” (a restaurant not to fancy, not in a nice neighborhood and not with a great chef but where the food is very exquisite and all the people goes there because the attentions as in home and the best taste).
Continue thru Barranco an other old town where we will find other king of “Huarique”
The idea is to have a big panorama how our Peruvian cuisine can be from the fanciest Restaurant to the modest Restaurant, but the exquisite Taste as how our food could be.
6:00p.m Dinner at the Rosa Nautica Restaurant in front the Pacific Ocean
Return to the hotel. Overnight in Lima.
DAY 4: CUSCO – CITY TOUR
Transfer to the airport for going to Cusco.
Upon your arrival transfer to the select hotel. We recommend to rest to avoid the illness of altitude.
PM. Lunch at
PM: City Tour. We will visit The main square, The Cathedral; Temple of Koricancha or Temple of the Sun. Then, we will visit The Fortress of Sacsayhuaman and Kenko a ceremonial center worshipping the Pachamama, Tambomachay or The Inca Bath, built to worship the element of Water and Puca Pucara or "Red Fort". Return to the hotel
DAY 5: CUSCO – TOUR TO THE SACRED VALLEY
AM. Full day excusion to the “Sacred Valley of the Incas”, We will have the opportunity to appreciate the typical Indian Market of Pisac, it is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
We will go to a Llama Park/ store
Lunch in a local country side restaurant. Then, we will visit the Inca Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo, built to guard the entrance to this part of the Valley. Finally visit the Village of Chincheros. Return to the city. Overnight in Cusco
DAY 6: CUSCO – TOUR TO MACHUPICCHU
AM: Transfer to Cusco Train Station. We will arrive in Agua Calientes, located in the province of Urubamba, at an altitude of 2,400 masl. Rise for a 25-minute bus drive of winding road, to “The Lost City of the Incas”. Visit guided to The Historical Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and various burial grounds. Free time to give a walk along the citadel.
Lunch at the Santuary MachuPicchu Restaurant.
PM: Return to the city of Cusco.
DAY 7: LIMA – CULTURAL DAY
After breakfast transfer to the airport to take the flight to Lima.
Upon your arrival transfer to the Manhattan Airport Hotel
10:00a.m. we will go to Archeological and Anthropological Museum, where we will be able to see the pre-Incas cultures and the Incas cultures focused also in the gastro nomic themes and how was found our product and how the Incas used this.
12:00p.m We will go to the Pedro de Osma Museum where the art and the gastronomy join in “Al Grano”. This restaurant, not only offers the best Peruvian cuisine, but also t he opportunity to realize visits guided to the museum Pedro de Osma of Ravine, which it joins by means of a tunnel that will transport it towards the only experience.
12:30p.m Lunch in Al Grano Restaurant
2:00p.m Transport to the “Queirolo tavern” Where we will enjoy a Demonstration how the Pisco and wine in made also we will see the secret of the Pisco Sour that is MADE IN PERU with the best Queirolo Pisco, and also we will try the Queirolo wine. We can stay here to have a taste with Pisco sour.
We suggest to try the Queirolo Sandwiches that is made with ham made in home with a Peruvian season ( by your own )
Return to the hotel. Over night at the Manhattan Inn Airport Hotel
DAY 8: FREE DAY / INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT
We suggest to lunch at La Mar Restaurant owner by the chef Gaston Acurio
Also go to WONG Supermarket or METRO Supermarket where you will find “ajies” and other products that are able to take it to your country
